| The Broadcast Centre was next to the Olympic Village in a building that would become a school after the games. It was withing walking distance of the stadium and our accomodation in the nearby Press Village. Four VR2000Bs were spread around the VT Room which was next door to the studio gallery. A VR3000 was mounted on the bays outside the gallery door, which put the operator, often Doug Parsons, within range of Brian Cowgill's 'comments; when things went wrong. The air conditioning was very effiicient indeed, forcing VT staff to wear coats when the outside temperature was reaching 100F! |
