An Amazing Site. I was a VT Boy, BH LLandaff Cardiff, late 1988 to Summer 1995. I was particularly AMAZED to see a shot of a BVH1100. No door says 'non A' to me, we had two I think numbered 198, 199 (?), also ten BVH1100A and Four BVH2000. I arrived in time for the last two weeks of film processing and my first transmissions were from two Rank Cintel Mk3 Jump Scan Tks.

This year marks the 60th anniversary of the launch of the Ampex VR1000. The Santa Clara (California) chapter of the IEEE, in conjunction with the San Francisco section of SMPTE unveiled a Historical Milestone plaque at Stanford University, where there is one of the first VR1000s on display. Here is the link to a 30 minute documentary I made with footage of the event and reminiscences from people, including Fred Pfost, the last surviving member of the original development team.
Please forgive my "stealing" John Naull's animation from the Christmas tape so many years ago.

Just seen the old video of Ron Nelmes in 1967 at the BBC. How wonderful to see Ron I knew him well when he was an Engineer at Westcountry Television and has brought back many happy memories.
A wonderful chap who taught me a lot about broadcasting.
