In January 1974 a small group of VT editors escaped the cold of a British winter and travelled to Christchurch on the South Island of New Zealand to cover the 10th Commonwealth Games (January 24th to February 2nd). A small scale operation compared with later years and, of course, it was all still cut editing. Stan Pow has recently restored his Super 8 movie of the event - including sound! - as well as clip of the marching band at the Opening Ceremony - anyone involved with the Commonwealth Games Operation in 1974 should remember this!
