Birth of a Building
This film records the construction of Television Centre over a period of nine years. The original film (many thanks to Steve Roberts & Jim Tucker) is fifteen minutes long and, as a soundtrack, is accompanied by electronic music of the era. I have split it into five roughly equal sections.

START
This section covers the clearance of the site and the construction of the Scenery Block.
Movie MAIN BLOCK - Foundations
The building of the foundations and the lower levels including the basement.

METAL FRAMEWORK
The erection of the steel framework of the entire main block
Movie CLADDING
The cladding and finishing of the external and internal walls
Movie FITTING OUT
Finishing touches, including the statue of Helios and, of great interest to VT staff(!), the fountain.
